Maddie and Steve

When I decided to write again back in 2014 shortly after Steve and I got married, I struggled a bit coming up with a name for the blog. In addition to wanting to store my thoughts somewhere, I wanted to document our life journey for our family and friends living afar. I knew this was the blog I would like to keep for as long as I can, so I wanted a name reflecting our past, present and future together.

Now, most of you know that I am not creative, at all. Overworking my creative side of the brain (or lack there of) was exhausting and clearly not working (I am well aware of the irony of being a blogger and lacking creativity, I’m working on it). So I took the practical and simple route and decided on Maddie and Steve, and I’m so glad I did because it’s the foundation of our life together. The life we built and will build around us, our daughter we brought into this world and future children we will raise, all stem from Steve and me. Thus it was very fitting to create a name for this space documenting our journey in life.

With that said, I have been going back and forth on what I want to do with this blog. To be honest, I was afraid and lacked confidence to create contents and promote them professionally. I’m only used to having a personal blog, and that’s how I’ve been primarily using this platform for the past four years. But you only live once, and why not go all-in to see where this blog can take me?

So I am re-branding my blog. By no means am I a professional blogger, at least not yet (Ha! dream high, right? ;P)  I am shifting this blog from personal usage to an audience read blog. The contents of it won’t change as the main purpose of this blog is to document our life, so it’ll be lifestyle type of feel with a focus on motherhood.

There it is, my friends. I was super nervous about this post, mainly due to lack of confidence and potential judgments from family and friends. If it doesn’t work out, then be it. At least I can say I tried! I was going to document our life either way, right? So if you haven’t already – come find me on Instagram, where I’m most active, and FB page. Thanks in advance for the support!

  1. Hey girl, it’s always scary trying something new especially because of our fear of failure. I’m right there with you on that! Kudos for diving in and taking the plunge. Wishing you the best!
