OH man, where do I start? I feel like Steve and I have been nonstop on the go since we got married! So many exciting new changes before our 1 year wedding anniversary!
If you haven’t caught on already from me talking about possible new changes, we are super stoked to share that we have relocated to a different state! It’s been crazy two months of uncertainties and fast turnaround time of moving our lives farther down South. But we got it done!! We have moved to North Carolina, y’all!
After almost four years at Hopkins for school and work, it was time for Steve to move on. He started looking for a new job, and we honestly didn’t think it was going to happen so soon. We gave ourselves at least 3 months for a possible new change. Little did we know, this exciting new opportunity for Steve would come much sooner! It actually ended up working out well because Research Triangle Park (RTP) was one of few locations he ultimately wanted to end up in for his career. It just happened earlier than expected. Nonetheless, we made a huge decision to accept the offer and relocate for his new job. It definitely wasn’t an easy decision since I also have my career to consider, but after weighing all pros and cons, we wanted to do what’s best for our growing family. Plus, it made our decision so much easier for me to still keep my career at my current organization and work remotely from home. I’m super fortunate and grateful for being able to have this arrangement and still be with my organization, because it would have been heartbreaking to leave my work family!
So here we are! The past month has been super chaotic with whirlwind of changes in our lives, and I imagine the next month and a half will equally be crazy. We have moved into our new place (almost!), but we will have to stay in Baltimore to tie up loose ends for the next two weeks. Life is kind of hectic right now. I am so anxious to unpack our new home and organize everything, but it will have to wait until we return from Baltimore. I’m hoping to get settled as much as we can in our new home before we have to fly out to Chicago for our baby shower on 4th of July weekend. See?! So many things going on!! But they are all great things, so I’m not complaining. I can’t wait until things get settled down a bit, so I can start preparing the nursery for Jelly Belly! 🙂
I have a few exciting blog posts in queue to publish in the next couple of weeks including the gender reveal post so stay tuned!
And lastly, despite my insanity in order and plans, I try my best to welcome any change in my life. So I leave you with one of my favorite quotes – “Change…Sometimes in the winds of change, we find our true direction”.
